Plan Plan Plan!

I have never been what's known as a planner, or at least a planner that has their plans pan out if you will. I get bored, forget, or get frustrated in the whole planning process and give up. The last year or so with Isaac and having Carolina in my life has changed that. I've learned something that I'm sure most parents have known for a while: Kids are much easier to deal with when they're busy. I've found that rough weekends are generally the ones where we have nothing going on and are sitting around. We don't have to be going somewhere but to at least have a special movie, game, or cooking project goes a long way to a more enjoyable weekend for all. This past weekend was no exception: Friday started with

Playing new Princess Dominoes

An impromptu game of keep away

Baking yummy chocolate chip cookies (well slicing and baking)

And some kung fu fighting with daddy that ended in a minor boo boo that was easily fixed with some ice and a chocolate chip cookie. I have a feeling that really only the cookie was needed. (I had some cute pics of the kung fu, but they came out too dark.)

Saturday was a trip to my dads to play in the pool which ended up being a day of fear conquering: I learned to dive and Carolina made it down the slide by herself. It was funny Isaac went up on the slide with her the first time and she FREAKED out, screaming and crying but it was too late for them to get off so she had to go down and she cried the whole time. Once in the water she was pouting and yelled she'd never get on the slide again. So we left her alone to pout for a few minutes and within 2 minutes she had quietly gotten out of the pool and was standing at the stairs of the slide, you could see the wheels turning. We didn't say anything at all just watched as she took a deep breath went up the stairs and down the slide! After that she went several more times and had a blast each time. I was very proud of her!

Going down the slide!

Sunday was much begged for ice skating outing for just us girls. Isaac being the awesome boyfriend that he is cleaned out my car while we were gone. The weekend finished up with a little High School Musical and one more batch of cookies. Whew!! Now I just need to come up with something for next weekend!

Today I Started a Blog

I guess this is what happens when I'm left at home at night...I start a blog! I've tossed the idea of a blog around for a while, but I've always talked my self out of it for a myriad of reason. The main one being that I'm great at starting things, not so great at finishing them. The half read novels, empty scrapbooks and mostly empty journals that fill the boxes, drawers and bookcases in my house prove this fact. Next obstacle was the much abused excuse of time, no time. I work full time, go to school, and the gym and have a boyfriend, who has time for a blog? Not me I thought, especially with TV and Facebook taking up the majority of my free time, and to be honest taking up my not so free time as well. Then there was the fact that I don't have a kid, at least not a kid of my own and that seems to be why most people have a blog, to show off their kids. What would I show off...myself? Isaac and I goofing around and living in sin? Eh, none of those sounded right so I let the idea go for a while and got busy with summer school and work and the general business of living.

Summer school's ended though, I've got four days off from work, and I'm home by myself on a Saturday night so my blog was conceived.

I'm sure similar circumstances will lead to the conception of any future children as well!

My blog needed a name and I knew it had to have coke (the drink) in it somewhere. My one true addiction. I have, everyday, without fail, at least one coke, usually two. I drink only coke classic and I am very particular about taste and conditions under which it is served. Currently an already chilled can poured over ice in a Styrofoam cup is my preferred method of consumption.

So there you have it, my blog is born. This isn't a Julie and Julia thing, I'm not documenting anything amazing or significant, just me living my life.I can't promise grammer and spelling will always be perfect so you have been warned. I have a sailors mouth and my foot can generally be found in my mouth so expect some of that. Supporting cast will include boyfriend Isaac and his six year old daughter Carolina, who is with us every other weekend. Hopefully between the three of us we'll keep you entertained.
